Studies on the Effects of Danggium and Gokeumrokheomsokmyoungtang on Thrombosis and Elevated Blood Viscosity






Abstract
In order to investigate the effects of Danggium and Gokeumrokheomsokmyoungtang on thrombosis and elevated blood viscosity, Sprague-Dawley rats injected endotoxin into the caudal vein to make experimental thrombosis model were oral administrated
solid
extract of Danggium 480 mg/200g (Sample A) and Gokeumrokheoumsokmyoungtang 309 mg/200g (Sample B), and observed platelets, prothrombin time, fibrinogen, and FDP.
Another group injected hydrocortisone acetate into the muscular rump to make experimental elevated blood viscosity model were oral administrated Sample A and B, thereafter measured whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, hematocrit, RBC, WBC,
hemoglobin, glucose, albumin, total protein, body weight and body temperature.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1) Platelet was increased significantly in sample A compared with the control group.
2) Fibrinogen was increased insignificantly in the trial groups compared with the control group.
3) Prothrombin time was shortened significantly in Sample A, and B compared with the control group.
4) FDP was decreased significantly in Sample A and B compared with the control group.
5) Whole blood viscosity was significantly decreased in Sample A compared with the control group, especially at lower shear rates and palma viscosity was significantly decreased in the trial groups compared with the control group.
6) The increase of WBC and decrease of hematocrit, RBC and hemoglobin were showed in the trial groups, especially Sample A and B revealed a significance on the decrease of RBC, and Sample A revealed a significance on the decrease of hematocrit,
and
hemoglobin was decreased significantly in Sample B.
7) The decrease of glucose, albumin and total protein was showed in the trial groups.
8) Body weight was increased in the trial groups after 7 days and body temperature revealed no significance.
According to the above results, it was considered that Danggium was more curative for thrombosis than Gokeumrokheomsokmyoungtang for thrombosis, and Danggium and Gokeumrokhemosokmyoungtang were curative for elevated blood viscosity.
